Soundtoys 5.5.2: SpaceBlender and Resizable UI Enhancements

Soundtoys has released version 5.5.2 of its flagship plug‑in suite, delivering a host of improvements to workflow, interface, and performance.

What’s New in 5.5.2

  • SpaceBlender reverb is now fully integrated into Effect Rack, accompanied by 67 new presets tailored for ambient and spatial textures.
  • Resizable interfaces have been added for every plug‑in in the V5.5 lineup (excluding Effect Rack), making high‑DPI setup much friendlier.
  • EchoBoy Jr delay time has been extended to 15 seconds, while PanMan’s LFO bottom range now drops from 0.1 Hz to 0.01 Hz.
  • Premade assets like preset menus have been upgraded to high‑resolution, plug‑ins now auto-check for updates, and a range of bug and stability fixes address CPU usage, pop glitches, crashes, and memory leaks.

Notable Fixes & Improvements

  • Reduced CPU drain during tempo‑automated SpaceBlender usage.
  • Resolved instantiation pops in FilterFreak, Crystallizer, and startup crashes in Cubase and DAW environments.
  • Smoother operation and fewer memory leaks across the entire plug‑in bundle.

Known Issues

  • On macOS, some UI elements may show minor artifacts at specific scaling levels — Soundtoys is investigating.
  • In Effect Rack’s VST3/AAX versions, automation parameters may appear as “Unassigned” in the DAW, though they remain functional.

Final Note

Soundtoys 5.5.2 enhances both creative flexibility and stability. Resizable plug‑in windows and deeper integration of SpaceBlender in Effect Rack greatly improve modern workflows, especially in high-resolution environments.
